The 26-year-old mother-of-two was in an extremely low place — going through a divorce that resulted in her being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease while having two children — a four-year-old and a two-year-old. old – to maintain.
Times were tough but the housewife wanted to make the most of her time at home and decided to start her own business.
Although many businesses may require a large investment to get it off the ground, Janara only needed to invest £29 but managed to turn that small sum into a very successful business.
The single mother of Yasin, 4, and Amarah, 2, from Barry, Wales, had noticed that a friend of hers had started dropshipping and Janara was keen to try it too.

Dropshipping is a form of retail business in which the seller takes customer orders without holding stock. Instead, in a form of supply chain management, the seller transfers the orders and their shipping details to either the manufacturer, a wholesaler, or another retailer, who then ships the goods directly to the customer.
With no experience, Janara would spend hours watching YouTube videos and researching the business idea until she felt confident enough to get started.
Janara told Fabulous: “A year ago I invested £29 in a dropshipping shop. Fast forward to now, my brand is private label and on Amazon FBA making between £5,000 and £10,000 a month and only working five hours a week.”
The Welsh woman explained that she started her business in lockdown while going through a very challenging time.
She added: “When I started it was on lockdown. I was going through a divorce at the time and was at home with the kids.
“I’ve always been in the business, but when I had the kids I was stuck at home.
“I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease – rheumatoid arthritis – and I just felt like it was all coming down on me.

“I came across the business model and I thought, if someone I know can do it, then so can I.
“I looked online and you didn’t need any qualifications, so I went to YouTube and researched and researched.
“I stayed up until about 5 a.m. and then got up at 7:30 a.m. with the kids.
“All day I would go to my family’s house and the kids would go and play while I researched.
“I started with very little money – I invested £29 at the time and that was for Shopify.
“I bought a domain and started looking for organic, free marketing strategies.”
What is rheumatoid arthritis?
Arthritis is a common condition that causes pain and inflammation in a joint.
The two most common types are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Rheumatoid arthritis affects more than 400,000 in the UK and often begins when a person is in their 40s and 50s.
Women are affected three times more often than men.
Rheumatoid arthritis occurs when the body’s immune system targets affected joints, causing pain and swelling.
The endless hours of research paid off and Janara was stunned when she received a sale on her first day of launch in December 2020.
The entrepreneur explained: “It started straight away – I got a sale on day one, I was so shocked I really didn’t expect it.
“It really took off from there, which was incredible.
“I work about five hours a week, sometimes less and sometimes more, that’s really flexible.”
If you want to learn more about dropshipping and know exactly how Janara made her money, be sure to take notes.
Janara explains: “Dropshipping is an online business model where you sell products without handling any of the items.
“They pick a product, build and brand a website, and then sell it.
“The customer buys a product through your website, then you forward the customer details to a wholesaler, usually in China, and that wholesaler then ships the product.
“All you do is pass the money on and they do the rest.
“You then have the win in between that you made the serve on.
I made my first £1,000 in the second week and four weeks later I made £6,000 in one day.
“That’s how it started and it works, but from there I’m trying to show people that you brand something that works and put out a trademark so you can start with it from home.
“The profit is higher because you can then buy the product in large quantities from the wholesaler and ship it directly with your brand name. It’s more sustainable.
“I used all the money and invested it to get a few thousand of my products under my brand name.
“I’m waiting for the delivery, which is then stored in a warehouse.
“It’s not difficult, you just have to focus on it.”
If you’re a stay-at-home mom, Janara recommends dropshipping as an effective way to generate income from your own home.
She explained: “I created my own website with no experience and researched free advertising methods.
“I made my first £1,000 in the second week and four weeks later I made £6,000 in one day.
“I turned £29 into over £80,000 in one year and increased my profit from 43% to 88%.
“I could not believe it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much money all at once before.
“I’ve done this by making it private label and ordering pallets instead of boxes – now my brand is a trademarked shop that ships to customers worldwide.
“I don’t expect everyone to achieve such a result, I think I was really lucky, but it’s possible, I’m not the only one who can do it and I won’t be the last.
“I guess it depends on how badly you want it – at the time I needed it I did my best.
“When I started I wasn’t particularly well off financially and within the first eight months I was able to take my kids abroad, which I never thought possible.”
Janara advised that in order to be successful with dropshipping, you just need to make sure your product is niche.
She said: “My product is what we call a ‘winning product’ so the competition is really low.
“But one product I’ve sold before was related to pets.
“Everything sells, it’s just the marketing – finding a good marketing strategy is probably 90% of success and I’ve managed to find free and organic marketing strategies that are really good.
“My product is now sold worldwide and I’ve even signed some deals with some physical stores, which is amazing.”
When I started I was not particularly well off financially and within the first eight months I was able to take my children abroad, which I never thought possible.
If you’re keen to try dropshipping, Janara gave us her top tips to follow.
She advised: “Anyone starting out has to find a niche – something really focused, so it could be electrics, menswear, women’s beauty.
“Really put yourself in the customer’s shoes, if you can relate to the product, your conversion rate will be a lot higher because you can relate to your customer and then give them a much better experience.
“Also, you have to be really clever with marketing – be consistent and don’t give up.
“Keep researching, listening and reading – the more knowledge you absorb, the more you can then put into your business.
“I tell people – you either need time or money – if you have the money you obviously have a head start, but if you have the time you can, it just means you have to put in a little more effort.
“It doesn’t work for everyone, but it can work as long as you put in the work.”
Janara is now offering coaching for those interested in dropshipping and would like to encourage those interested to take the plunge.
She concluded: “A lot of people came to me for mentoring – right now I’m opening a coaching program to teach people.
“I’m just a normal person and I made it. I’ve had so many girls tell me I inspired them and it was so beautiful.
“I’m so passionate and so proud of how far I’ve come, I can’t wait to make other people run.

“I started my business when I was at my worst and now I’ve come out the other side – it’s possible.
“I’m sure if I’ve managed to pull it off, hopefully I can let other people know they can too.”
