
Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) and Beyond Next Ventures India Pvt Ltd (BNVI), Bangalore, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, to expand academia-industry collaboration. Japan Connect is a particular strength of IITH, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship is IITH’s core competency with over 200 patents and over 100 startups on campus. Investing in innovation has led to the development of many pioneering technologies. This collaboration between IITH and BNVI will usher in a new wave of innovation at IITH by investing and mentoring entrepreneurial ideas emerging from IITH’s start-up community to boldly move from ideas to markets.

Such a philosophy is very important in order to better and more use the results of academic research to solve the real problems in both countries and even beyond,” said Prof. BS Murty, Director, IITH.
“IIT Hyderabad has a strong and broad startup ecosystem including multiple incubators, entrepreneurship curricula and student organizations. The cooperation with BNVI will further increase the momentum of the startup ecosystem. Development and networking of human resources are also important aspects for maintaining open innovation. IIT Hyderabad students will have more exposure to entrepreneurship professionals from and through BNVI. I hope that our students will receive a positive stimulus and become more proactive in creating a startup that leverages learning and R&D at the institute,” said dr Kotaro Kataoka, Associate Faculty, IITH.
